But as it has become every day's news headline since Yahoo started it with cutting 1500 of its task force last year, now a need of platform has been in demand where people can express their selves in words how they are feeling about their company, whey the got laid off was that justified or not.
And every thing they want to tell anonymously. And www.layoffgossip.com is providing you that platform.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11719208.post-84783961009411613942008-12-18T08:05:00.000-08:002008-12-18T08:05:00.000-08:00We all have to live with that fear, and in some se...We all have to live with that fear, and in some sense we should. What I feel is the sense of entitlement, was the post world war II period when someone could hold a job their whole life.

I'm a software engineer and I left Cardinal Health to go to a startup in 07. I did it knowing full well whats coming, but not truly believing that Cardinal was any more secure. Plus, I wasn't really doing anything there. As long as my current job lasts, I'm doing something.

Joshbarnaby33https://www.blogger.com/profile/12834925752363005483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11719208.post-36779009625687268722008-12-17T22:13:00.000-08:002008-12-17T22:13:00.000-08:00Yahoo’s script for performing the layoff begins wh...Yahoo’s script for performing the layoff begins when the boss walks up to an employee getting the sack. And then he says, “Thank you, [FIRST NAME HERE], for coming in. I have some information regarding our organization I’d like to tell you in person.” The anodyne managementspeak just gets worse from there: “I appreciate what you have done for Yahoo.”

http://valleywag.com/5106184/yahoos-secret-layoff-doublespeak-revealedAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11719208.post-3592908251732582192008-12-17T22:05:00.000-08:002008-12-17T22:05:00.000-08:00I've just survived a round of layoff. The next wave will probably come in 3 months, 6 at best.

And to think, this is just the beginning. Beginning of the end. God help us all.Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08013685092103110328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11719208.post-33188496370689493342008-12-17T17:00:00.000-08:002008-12-17T17:00:00.000-08:00I left Morgan Stanley in May 2007, which turned ou...I left Morgan Stanley in May 2007, which turned out to be the exact peak. It's still a dream of mine.

Being an entrepreneur (unless of course you're fortunate enough to have so much money that you don't really need to work much) obviously presents it's own challenges but the longer I stay in the corporate world, it just never gets any better - despite promotions, raises etc. Not just talking about the fear of layoffs.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11719208.post-10251388970869430472008-12-17T12:03:00.000-08:002008-12-17T12:03:00.000-08:00Interesting story. I feel very much the same way after 15 years as a software engineer but I fear things have gotten worse in the two years since you left the business.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
