The graphic below comes via this link at yesterday's USA Today story about the nation's flagging confidence after the world almost came to an end last week. This is an interactive graphic over at USA Today and is well worth poking at a bit.
The two stunning improvements in the President's approval rating after the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and after the invasion of Iraq in March of 2003 bode ill for peace in the world through the rest of the year if Mr. Bush is looking for a sure-fire way to improve his ratings before he leaves office.

The chart doesn't have a clearly defined horizontal timeline. I am going to assume the point of net disapproval began with Katrina.
I've long thought W a dangerous leftie. I see no reason to change my mind.
