This should be interesting. If nothing else, Peter Schiff's run for Chris Dodd's Senate seat will be like Ron Paul's campaign last year in that it makes people stop and think a little bit.
Then again, if Al Franken can make it, why not Peter? More details can be found here.

Having a dad who is a convicted (and very public) tax evader may appeal to narrow sliver of the populace but doesn't help with the electorate at large.
Ummm, tax "protester" would be a more accurate description of the man. There was no "evasion" there at all...
I think it will help some and hurt some.
Not being married (unfortunately) will prolly turn off more voters than a politically active pops...
But on the other hand....
The nation is waking up to the whole debt/banker ruse.
Those who got the stick up the backside will be happy to vote for Peter, as he's seen as being against the stick (as was his dad).
America has long needed the third leg of the political stool (the one that says no to government whenever possible). Peter may just help contribute to that growing third leg...
As if the typical stooges aren't immersed in crime, and a familial legacy of crime, and crime during current/prior legislative tenures.... come on...
Peter Schiff is beyond a boyscout compared to the usual suspects.
This guy will not sell that tax cuts for insurance and tax cuts for the rich. We did that for the last 10 years and it is the only period since the depression that NO private sector jobs were added for 10 years.
Peter Schiff would run intellectual circles around Chris Dodd.
I watched all of the bailouts being discussed, watched Paulson's "threats" to Congress about not approvingthe bailouts, and watched Peter Schiff's comments/reading between the lines about what was *really* happening. He called it all right...
Pauslon completely changes bailout scheme, Chris Dodd whines like a misused woman "I feel we were deceived..." A theme I see repeated over and over again in the current political landscape (I do not know if it is ignorance or dishonesty... do congressmen really trust gov. staticians? Sorry, off on a tangent).
Peter Schiff looks at data, and extrapolates it. He tells it like it is. And I have seen him hounded and called an idiot by entore panels of "experts" and keep his cool regarding the housing bubble and bailouts.
I wish I lived in CT so I could vote for him, I have not seen a politician that gave me any "hope" since Reagan.
You obviously missed Schiff on the Ed Show. This guy is definitely NOT ready for prime time.
I just visited CT, from CA, and I liked it there. Even better that Schiff is from CT. Someday looking to get out of CA due to taxes, politics, etc, never would have considered New England but hey, fortunately not everywhere is like Massachusetts and DC.
