Back, But Barely Useful

After sixteen days and four thousand miles, back in the familiar environs of Southern California and still wading through piles of mail and dirty laundry, only a single photo and a few comments can be mustered this morning.
The trip went off without a hitch really, save for some confusion over auto insurance coverage when traveling in Canada (check with your insurance company before you go) there was little to complain about in over two weeks, through eight states and two provinces, most of the time being spent in Canada's spectacular national parks of Banff, Jasper, and Yoho.
More will be written about the trip in the days ahead and more photos will be posted. For today, one photo is provided - readers are encouraged to enlarge this to have a better look, as the colors really are extraordinary.
This photo is of Peyto Lake taken from Bow Summit on the Icefields Parkway enroute from Banff to Jasper as shown on this map. It is one of many lakes in the area formed by melting glaciers, all of which have unique coloration due to the presence of rock flour - ground up rock resulting from glacial erosion that becomes suspended in the water giving it a milky appearance.
Aside from the sights to see, there were many interesting observations about our neighbors to the north, some of which will be shared later this week, after fingers are retrained to work a keyboard and eyes are adjusted back to reading computer screens.

Welcome back. I have missed my favorite blog.
Glacier carved lakes and mountainsides are all well and good, but honestly Tim, that photo is crying out for a strip mall loaded up with Hummers and Escalades. THEN it would be beautiful, wouldn't it? Seriously: OFEHO is warning about the pull-back in RE. I can almost hear the panic and the average debt ridden borrower's thoughts turn to their 401k's and IRA's, itching to cash out. October should have a BIG surprise this year....
