Don't tell me who won the British Open
Sunday, July 22, 2007
On the phone a short time ago, even my mother almost spoiled the fun by blurting out what happened at Carnoustie earlier today, a course where yours truly played a round with a chap from Edinburgh in 2000 shortly after The Open was contested there last.
Something interesting happened and a faithful Tivo will soon divulge what it was, making the normal Sunday afternoon catching up on news out of the question for fear of the main page at Yahoo! or some other website spoiling the fun once again.
Pictures have been more par for the course on Sundays anyway - here are a few from last week's adventure near the Kit Carson Pass in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Lots of volcanic remains in this part of the Sierras.
Ducks - lots of them.
A different kind of duck.
Another alpine lake.
This week's cartoon from The Economist:

UPDATE (7/22/07 at 6:40 PM PST):
This was, without a doubt, one of the wildest back nines at a Major - I thought for sure he was going to win.
