As seen in this story from Resource Investor earlier in the week, there seems to be a good deal of uncertainty about divining meaning from these pretty gold inventory charts.

Readers are left to draw their own conclusions today - your humble scribe just likes whipping up the charts, the one in the Resource Investor article looking very familiar.

Zooming in a little closer, many theories could explain what has happened over the last few weeks and, given what's happening with the gold price today, the streetTRACKS GLD inventory page will probably see lots of traffic after markets close this afternoon.

Surely there is a message here.
