High Five!
Monday, February 04, 2008
According to this report in USAToday, Budweiser was once again voted the most popular Super Bowl ad with a Rocky Balboa-inspired dog and pony show about Clydesdale redemption that culminated with a cute high five with the equine's dalmation trainer.
Better than Clydesdales kicking field goals? Maybe.
The #2 finisher, FedEx's pigeon-delivery spot, was pretty good (and scary) while the #5 fire-breathing Bud Light drinker was funny as well. Remember the one from last year (or the year before) with the tiny little refrigerator, out of which comes a giant sledge hammer, part of some sort of battling robot theme?
My personal favorites were the Tide Talking Stain ad at #10 and Shaquille O'Neal on a thoroughbred in the #13 spot. How about the one from a couple years ago where he's sitting in a convertible with the top up, then the top comes down and his head pokes through it?
You can watch all 55 ads online at USAToday and probably elsewhere on the internet.

You all like to discuss the ads. What does that say for the entertainment value of the program?
Funny, I'm totally in agreement about the Tide commercial. I thought it was the best by far. The longer it went on, the more I laughed as did those watching with me. It was one of those offbeat kinda things, but I loved it.
These are still my two favorite adverts, virals but
great-
