Is it any wonder?

Is it any wonder that this sort of thing is happening after an entire generation has been trained in the ways of leveraged speculation and encouraged to hunt down returns, wherever they might find them?
But investments in crude oil pays no interest! They provide no yield!

Hey Tim,

Who would this "entire generation" be?

Oh, you know, everybody who thinks that the history of financial markets began in 1985.

I don't believe I've ever heard anybody refer to Alan Greenspan's interest in Rand without irony (or worse). My default assumption would be that the commenter was attributing delusions of Randian grandeur (say that ten times fast) to Greenspan. Like the guy in Dirty Dancing. "Some people count and some don't."

This very much looks like the acceleration of the "next bubble market". I've heard more than a few people mention they thought energy was primed to be the next bubble.
