Watson almost wins The Open
Sunday, July 19, 2009
Damn that nasty lie around the 18th green and an eight-foot putt that looked like what you or I might do under about 1/1000th the pressure! Tom Watson, 59 years young, came ever so close to winning the British Open today, losing in a playoff to Stewart Cink.
Cink came out of nowhere to tie for the lead after 72 holes, making birdies on three of the last five holes he played. Congratulations Stewart, you ruined what would have been a great day for millions of old guys all around the world.
