Take a ride on a 1905 San Francisco streetcar
Friday, February 12, 2010
For your Friday afternoon viewing and listening pleasure - a video shot from a streetcar in San Francisco in 1905 (before the earthquake in 1906) accompanied by Air's La Femme D'argent from their Moon Safari album (hat tip ES).
There are a few close calls there at the end and, I don't know about you, but, for me, those problems with the horizontal hold brought back some memories from when I was a kid.

Pretty cool! Thanks Tim!
I didn't know they had video in 1905! : )
Nifty! If you're looking for a free way to spend an afternoon in SF, try the streetcar museum!
The film industry didn't really get going until the 1910s and 1920s (i.e., silent pictures), but, according to this, the technology was around in the late-1890s and 1900s.
Looks like Market St. heading toward the bay. Too cool!
