About four thousand miles later
Saturday, September 08, 2007
Well, we're getting a little tired of driving but, other than that, things are going well. Another few days and another 1,500 miles or so will put us in Yellowstone where we will enjoy the better part of a week.
One of the nice things about no longer having to return to a "veal pen" (otherwise known as an office cubicle) is that if we want to spend another day or two or three we can - maybe an extra week would be about right.
When we were in Washington D.C., the photo below was snapped at the Depression Era collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
What did Mark Twain say about history? It doesn't repeat, but sometimes it rhymes?

Funny thing - lots of bank machines not workign properly in the UK at the moment. Probably another 'glitch' 's all.
(did the last comment go up? - got no verification...)
I sure hope they don't confiscate our gold again.
looking at your map of your driving route, looks like the pink pushpin is right about where South Bend Indiana or Kalamazoo Michigan is located ....
Yes, we'll be in South Bend for another half hour and then it's off to Minnesota.
