More cool WSJ graphics on the housing bust
Monday, October 22, 2007
The interactive graphic for the screen shot below is in the free content area of Tuesday's Wall Street Journal - everybody can have some fun with the latest delinquency data.
Try moving the timeline selector above the map from left to right to see how the whole country gets darker as the housing boom fades and loan problems rise. It gets lighter when you go from right to left - maybe Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson could look into this as a possible solution to the housing mess.
And check out those little bars at the bottom of the page that grow from zero to the current delinquency rate when you select one of the column headings or a different delinquency map.
Cool.

a stretch, but what if some of those fires are related to insurance claims?
Anything is possible. It's sad to think about it, but what if one of those houses that was miraculously left standing, as all the neighbors' housese burned down, was the one where the owner was about to go into foreclosure.
