Oil and gold contest - the fun begins

Friday, April 25, 2008

Entries for the 2008 edition of the "Guess the Mid-Year Price of Oil and Gold" contest have been tabulated and they now appear in the chart and tables below.
There were a total of 111 entries with average guesses of $119 for a barrel of oil and $997 for an ounce of gold. For oil the high/low range was $195/$76 and for gold the range was $1,500/$743.

All individual guesses appear in the table belows - if something looks amiss, please let me know. All entries received via email use the sender's initials unless directed otherwise - you should be able locate your guess based on when and how it was made:

From Iacono Research mail:
There were a few entries at the blog that had no identification (posted as Anonymous with no name in the comment), so these were not accepted.

Sorry, I just didn't feel like writing "Anon 4/18 5:32 PM".

The graphic at the top of this post will be updated about every two weeks, usually on Fridays, until the last few weeks in June when updates will occur weekly.

Good luck to all!

I still like my Gold estimate ($870) bu tmy oil guess ($98) is making me nervous with Nigeria and Iran newsmakers lately! Plenty of time though.

Anyone who believes that gold will be at $870 and oil at $98 in June should change his name to "getyourselfdisected"
