It's lonely at the top

Poor Christina Romer was on Meet the Press this morning and David Gregory proceeded to show this screen shot of the Treasury Department's staff page listing just the lonely name of Secretary Tim Geithner. While not at a loss for words, what came forth from the Chair of the President's Council of Economic Advisers was not encouraging.
It seems that the Treasury Department is becoming a regular Sunday subject here as, last week, the thin staffing was discussed along with an old TV series featuring a helpful collie.
Representative Eric Cantor (R-VA) followed Ms. Romer and was even less impressive noting that, just because the Republicans spent money like drunken sailors when they were in the majority doesn't mean that it's OK for the Democrats to do so now.
The entire Meet the Press program can be viewed online below, prompting the question, "Is there anyone that doesn't let you embed their videos these days?"

Be warned - Ms. Romer's voice is a bit shrill.

Cash-n-Carry is still there handing out the tarp money to the wall street firms. And now handing out the TALF to his hedge fund buddies (I think.)
This is an interesting article. It would appear prior to her current position, Christina Romer considered tax cuts to be very beneficial to a troubled economy, even using Keynesian theory. It seems like she believes in a larger than research indicates.
